Hello, my name is Christopher and I am a news and sports reporter working and living in Gresham, Oregon.

I first discovered a love for journalism at the University of Oregon, where I went to school and received my degree. Originally I had visions of becoming a lawyer, mostly because of family members who claimed I would make a good one, but perhaps my fondness for reading and writing should have clued me in on what career I would eventually pursue.

I have worked and interned for several media outlets during my career; Lane Today, an online-first news site, Emerald Media Group, the Oregon school newspaper; Envision, an online environmental magazine; the Moscow-Pullman Daily News, a traditional print newspaper; and the Portland Tribune, which is the largest publication I have written for. In total I have been working in the field since 2013. I have also joined several radio broadcasts with Oregon Public Broadcasting to discuss breaking news.

I am currently working as the city reporter for the Gresham Outlook, where I cover breaking news, politics, crime, lifestyle, entertainment, history, nature, art and human interest pieces. I also write a weekly sports feature covering the high schools in East Multnomah County, Sandy and Estacada.

My byline has appeared on KOIN.com, the Springfield Times, Our Town Magazine, KVAL.com, Oregon Public Broadcasting, the Portland Business Tribune, the Estacada News, and the Sandy Post.

Most of my experience is in writing and reporting, though I have a background in photography, page design and copy editing. I also am comfortable working through social media, promoting stories and engaging with readers.

My favorite book is 100 Years of Solitude, movie is John Carpenter’s The Thing — though I love the latest from Neil Breen — and nothing is funnier than peak The Simpsons. I try to travel and explore as much as possible, though I’m always down for a quiet night inside playing board games. I also am the creator and host of the Boo Boys, a horror movie podcast.

Thank you for taking the time to check out my portfolio, and feel free to contact me with any questions.
